If You Are Willing

Time and time again Jesus healed people from all sorts of infirmities during His time on this earth. The good news is the power of God continues to heal and rescue people from the bondage that we all struggle with, but one thing has to happen – you have to be willing. What does that mean? It means you have to be willing to surrender to God, to allow Him access to your very being, and to let Him change you from the inside out.

When we are willing to wake up every day and pick up our cross God is faithful to meet us where we are, to work in our lives, and make us more Christ-like. When we live as such, we are blessed with peace, joy, and love in our lives.

When Healing Fails

We all know that God doesn’t fail, and He is capable of anything but from experience I know I have expected more healing than it appeared I was given. Sometimes to the point where I question my faith, but I have concluded that it isn’t God but myself that is the problem.

  • Expectations – I believe it is okay to expect God to heal and change my life… that is often called faith. But expecting it to happen a “certain” way in “my” time will almost always lead to disappointment.
  • Sin – Sin interferes with what God is doing – it separates God from us and stands in the way of us becoming what and who God has for us. We need to repent and ask God’s forgiveness.
  • Letting Go – Letting go and letting God is often easier said than done. I have failed many times at giving God the most important things in my life because I am scared to lose control or have to give up something I enjoy. For some reason, I thought that I could do a better job. Ultimately, God can do it ALL.
  • Motives – Motives whether selfish or not can get in the way because it may not be on the same wavelength as God. I am guilty of a me-me-me attitude and can get sidetracked on what I want and not what God wants. The point is – the blessings God bestows on us are often more than what we would have expected.

Are you willing? God is! God wants a relationship with each one of us. He wants to heal you from the pain you are in and then bless you, but you have to invite Him in and allow it to happen.
