Benefits of a Personality Profile

Whats Personality Have to do With it

Recently I was looking through some old books in my office and stumbled across a personality profile on none other than myself. I guess I could look at this in a couple ways, do I dare read it and find out a thing or two about myself or do I chuck it with the notion that I am pretty together? Well I decided if anything it could be worth a laugh or two.

As I was reading I was intrigued on just how much the personality profile knew about me, good and bad. For general purposes I was looking for areas of improvement and I did find a couple. For starters, it talks about me and conflict – “In general people such as me don’t believe in this concept. The only conflict is when someone disagrees with our point of view, which we assume to be correct. Therefore, conflict resolution can become an exercise in converting the other person over to our point of view.” I totally do this!! Good area to work on, wouldn’t you think?

There were parts of the personality profile that I knew such as; dependable, responsible, driven by structure, honest, and order, I love order! You want to know what quality brought parts of this website into being? – Although I may be slow to change, once I can see the practical value in making a course correction, I am quick to implement it and often with great zeal. When I learn about something and find that there is value I tend to get carried away. I believe in a healthy lifestyle, which involves several aspects such as; emotional, physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual so I have introduced these things into my website because they are all connected and when it comes to coping with divorce we need to focus on the whole ball of wax.

I am glad I kept my personality profile because it has helped to understand and accept who I am. It not only shows me where I can improve but it highlights my qualities as well. I remember after my divorce all I could see was the bad. It is nice to have something that mentions the good. I wish I would have found this years ago. When it comes to self improvement and having a good laugh a personality profile can come in handy.
