Life is Beautiful

Over the years I have developed this life philosophy that from the day we are born we enter the school of hard knocks. Every time we step out our front door we can anticipate learning a lesson in one form or another.

It seems that those that are the closest to us, the ones that love us the most, end up disappointing us the most. There is no doubt about it; life is hard at times but just like with seasons of the year the hard times pass in time AND they inevitably return.

We all go through different degrees of trials, pain, and suffering in our lives and it is this that builds our character, that makes us survivors, and that makes us moldable into the people we were destined to be. Remember, “What doesn’t kill us only makes us stronger” and “God NEVER gives us more than we can handle.”

With that in mind; if you are feeling beat down, hopeless, discouraged, and alone it is time to pick yourself up off the ground, summon that power that every under dog experiences when they come from behind and defeat their opponent and start living your life as the champion (winner) you are. Life after divorce isn’t the end, its just a new chapter that can be anything you make it to be. You might not be in control of all the things that happen to you but you are in control of how you react to them and the way they influence your life.

So let’s start by remembering that “Life is Beautiful”… play the song below and sing along.

  1. I just wanted to rant about something..
Life is beautiful..However, I am having a difficult time interfacing with the world.
Not the world. Some of the people in this world. πŸ™‚
When faced with folks who make a mockery of my faith, I find my temper rise. I, for the most part am a calm and peaceful being. BUT.. When faced with the grimace, the rolling of the eyes, the snicker from some people in which I come in contact, folks I don’t really know, but interact with. I get hot and am truly no help in standing up for the Kingdom. I hear, the peaceful words of the Lord, but my emotion just burns and I end up removing myself from the room/situation before my Italian side bursts forth. Prayer.. leads me back to the calm. But, how to face this situation better the next time is a puzzle.
Any words of wisdom.. practically speaking I mean.
    Thanks .. Claire

  2. I find it ironic at times that is seems God sends a can of gasoline (me) into an already smoldering situation knowing full well I am only going to ignite it. πŸ™‚ Oh, Claire, I know what you are saying but that is how it is… we just need to learn to not let what other people think of us matter. I do have a saying but don’t take it the wrong way… so many do. It is, “I Don’t Care.” I don’t care what others think of me, I don’t care if I am rejected, ridiculed, laughed at, or critisized. When we are able to walk into any situation knowing that whatever happens it is going to be just fine and what people think or say has no relevance on who I am. I am a Christian that is a work in progress to be more and more Christ-like. Just like you… at least your Italian side didn’t slap anyone upside the head! I think you are doing pretty darn well. πŸ™‚ The only practical wisdom I can give is for you to never leave your house again. πŸ™‚ No… just keep doing what you are doing and don’t worry (or don’t care).

  3. Jason, but I do care!
I want nothing more than to be able to speak up for … Christ. For my faith.
Hoping one day, I will be able to “act like a duck” and let it all just roll off my back, and be able to represent our faith with honor rather than the mute-burn..
Thank you for your note. Helps to know, I am not the only one who has a hard time with this. Not that that is a good thing, but .. makes me feel better to know I am not alone. The reminder too, that God is good and that things will be FINE.
I’ll just keep on .. Keeping The Faith πŸ™‚

  4. I know you care! We all care about Jesus and our faith but I get emails that my beliefs are wrong, that it is a sin to remarry or I mis-spelled a word or I am not sending the right message. If I were to let all that get to me I would simply give up and nobody would benefit from my experience. I have to take it with a grain of salt and quack like a duck. πŸ™‚

So defend your faith, pick your battles wisely, and don’t let what other people think bring you down.
